Charlie Kirk recently posted,
“New York City is likely to elect a Muslim socialist as mayor. This is quickly becoming one of the biggest threats to our country. Pay attention.”
He’s absolutely right.
This isn’t just another progressive candidate. Zohran Mamdani is an openly practicing Shia Muslim and an avowed socialist — and he has a very real chance of winning control over America’s most influential city.
We need to stop tiptoeing around the truth: Islam and socialism are both fundamentally incompatible with the U.S. Constitution and biblical Christianity.
This is more than politics — this is a spiritual and ideological battle for the soul of our nation.

Islam Is Not Just a Religion — It’s a Legal System
Let’s be honest about what Islam is. It’s not simply a religion in the way we think of Christianity — it’s a full-scale political, legal, and cultural system. The Quran is not just a spiritual book; it dictates laws. It mandates punishments. It defines social order. That’s why countries governed by Islam enforce Sharia law — where free speech is crushed, women are treated as second-class citizens, and Christians are often persecuted or even executed.
And Mamdani isn’t just someone with Muslim ancestry. He is an open, practicing Muslim who brings that worldview with him into his political activism. That matters. Because in Islam, the faith cannot be separated from the function of the state. The very foundation of our government — freedom of religion, speech, and conscience — stands in direct opposition to Islamic governance.
If a politician’s worldview is rooted in a religious system that teaches supremacy of divine Islamic law over man-made law, then we have a serious constitutional problem.
Islam Is Incompatible with the U.S. Constitution
Our Constitution enshrines liberty: the freedom to worship—or not. The freedom to speak—even against religion. The freedom to dissent.
Islamic doctrine, particularly under Sharia, denies those freedoms. Apostasy is punished. Criticizing Muhammad is blasphemy. Women have fewer legal rights. Homosexuality is punishable by death. That’s not a fringe interpretation — that’s mainstream law in many Islamic countries today.
I’m not saying Mamdani is trying to impose Sharia in New York tomorrow. But I am saying this: A practicing Muslim whose religion teaches the supremacy of Sharia is unfit to lead in a constitutional republic founded on Judeo-Christian principles.
This is not about hate. It’s about clarity. And it’s time Christians stopped being afraid to speak the truth.
Socialism Isn’t Compassion — It’s Control
If Islam wasn’t concerning enough, Mamdani also embraces socialism — another ideology completely at odds with biblical truth. Socialism promises compassion but delivers control. It claims to care for the poor while destroying economic freedom and individual responsibility.
The Bible teaches voluntary charity — not coerced redistribution. “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion…” (2 Corinthians 9:7). That’s a far cry from government-forced taxation and centralized power.
In every country where socialism takes root, religious freedom collapses. The government becomes god. And make no mistake — that’s the real goal of socialism: to replace dependence on God with dependence on the state.
This Is a Wake-Up Call for the Church
The fact that a Muslim socialist is a serious contender for New York City’s mayor isn’t just a political issue — it’s a theological one. It reveals how far we’ve drifted far from our Christian foundations and how silent the Church has become.
Ephesians 5:11 tells us, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” That’s our job — not to cozy up to the culture, but to confront it in love and truth.
I don’t hate Mamdani. I pray he comes to know Jesus Christ as his Savior. But I absolutely oppose what he stands for. And I will not pretend that his ideology is safe, compatible, or acceptable in a nation built on biblical foundations.
It’s Time to Stand Up
This moment demands courage. Not cruelty — but conviction.
We cannot afford to ignore what the rise of a Muslim socialist means for our freedom, our families, and our faith.
If we don’t speak out, we are complicit in the destruction of everything this country was built upon. Islam is not just another religion. Socialism is not just another economic idea. These ideologies destroy freedom and truth — the very things that allow the gospel to be preached openly.
We are not fighting a person. We are fighting principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12). But that means we must fight. With truth. With clarity. And with boldness.
Because silence is not love. And compromise is not peace.
